BRAZIL Ind., (WTWO/WAWV) — Two events Saturday helped raise suicide awareness and supported a local organization that helps survivors of attempted or completed suicide.
The VFW Post 1127 in Brazil held their first GI ride … in support of Team of Mercy.
At first, the plan was for riders to get on their bikes but due to the weather they weren’t able to.
However, they raised money for the organization.
In parts of the area, including Terre Haute and Sullivan, Team of Mercy supporters stood for two hours with signs showing positive messages and the number to the national suicide hotline.
The event was called ‘Stand Against Suicide’.
The suicide hotline number is 800-273-8255.
