OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified a 30-year-old Bridgeport man who’s body was recovered from Borah Lake near Olney this past weekend.
According to the coroner the deceased was Enare’ Evans.
Evans’ cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy is pending at this time.
Original: Police are investigating after a person drowned in a lake in Olney Saturday afternoon.
According to a release from the Olney Police Department, crews were called to Borah Beach after a 30-year-old swimmer did not resurface shortly after 3:30 C.T. Multiple other local and state agencies responded to the scene to help search for the individual.
After several hours of searching, the victim was located underwater and pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, no other information is available as the investigation is ongoing.
