TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Tenth Annual Soup Bowl Benefit, an evening of music, conversation, soup and bread, will take place from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 in the Maryland Community Church atrium.
Maryland Community Church is located at 4700 S. State Road 46 in Terre Haute.
At the event, attendees along with area artists, chefs, sponsors and volunteers come together to support the Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank. Through a simple bowl of soup, a spotlight is shone on the issues of hunger in our community and friends and neighbors are encouraged to share their abundance with those in need.
Thanks to a network of over 75 food pantries and soup kitchens, 3.9 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 3.25 million meals, was distributed to the needy in 2019 – more than ever before.
Those attending will purchase a handmade bowl for $25 and have it filled with soup from area chefs and restaurants.
The event will feature two seatings. The first seating will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the second seating beginning at 5:30 p.m. Seating and handmade bowls are limited.
Tickets are available at the Catholic Charities office located at 1801 Poplar St. in Terre Haute or
