Jason Snider has hunted ghosts since the late 1990’s and he says that the activity is gaining more popularity.
“We were actually doing it before a lot of the TV shows and stuff came about, but it seems like the TV shows have made it more popular,” said Jason Snider, founder of Crawford County Illinois Ghost Hunters Society.
With a growing interest in the paranormal, Tuesday, the Crawford County Ghost Hunters Society held a paranormal investigation class.
Snider says the purpose of the class is teach people the proper equipment, techniques, and safety instructions when investigating the paranormal.
“It takes around an hour just to get our equipment set up. We’re setting up monitors, infrared video camera systems. We’re just looking for any presence of paranormal activity,” Snider said.
The class is part of Lincoln Trail’s community education program, where leaders say they want to expose the public to new and different forms of activities.
“This is the time of year where we’re starting to ramp up for Halloween and people are thinking about the paranormal and this is a perfect way to be thinking about that,” said Chris Forde, coordinator of marketing for Lincoln Trail College.
There will be additional classes on September 24th and October 8th.
