SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Cops Cycling for Survivors is an awareness and support group that travel across the state honoring fallen officers in the line of duty and their families.
This year, the group includes Jeff Pitts, family to fallen officer Rob Pitts, who decided to cycle for his second year in a row.
Members of the group ranged from family members, to fellow officers, to community members that wanted to show their support.
The tour will last for 13 days. It started Friday this year and will end July 20 in Indianapolis.
The group will make 13 stops going from Boone County to Moorsville honoring fallen officers along the way.
The final destination will be Hill Cemetery to honor the family of fallen Indiana State Trooper Robert Garrison whose end of watch was in December of 1959.
