WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that there will be alternating lane closures for I-69 outside Washington, Indiana.
According to the news release, the lane closures are set to begin on or around June 2. The lane closures will be for both directions and will occur between the 57 and 59 mile markers.
The reason for the closures is so that crews can do polymeric overlay bridge work. Crews plan to start by closing the passing lanes before moving on to the driving lanes.
The project is projected to take a month to complete, but that timeframe is subject to change based on weather conditions. The Indiana Department of Transportation asks drivers to slow down and use caution when traveling through the area.
