TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Culver’s is hosting its 11th annual Scoops of Thanks Day on May 1, a fundraiser that donates to local farmers.
The event will take place on May 1st at either of the Culver’s locations. You can donate to your local FFA chapter and get a scoop of frozen custard for $1. 100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated. This event is part of Culver’s Thank You Farmers Project, which aims to inspire and support the next generation of agricultural leaders. Since 2013 this project has donated more than $6.5 million for agricultural education, $1,000,000 of which was from the last Scoops of Thanks Days.
“We’re proud to support the hardworking students and educators shaping the future of agriculture,” said Alison Demmer, Culver’s senior marketing and public relations manager and former Wisconsin FFA president. “Through Scoops of Thanks Day, we’re grateful to give guests a simple way to join us in this cause while enjoying our delicious Fresh Frozen Custard.”
Culver’s is also bringing back a favorite flavor to entice customers to come to the event. The flavor is called How Now Brown Cow, and features chocolate frozen custard infused with Culver’s Root Beer, chopped pieces of Dove Chocolate, and chocolate cake pieces. Guests can choose this flavor, along with standard chocolate or vanilla, as their $1 scoop to donate, but this will be the only day How Now Brown Cow is available.
Last year, the Scoops of Thanks Day event served over 169,400 scoops nationwide, and Culver’s states that they look forward to beating that this year. To learn more about the Thank You Farmers Project you can visit this link.
