KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Grants are a great way to receive funding for a specific event or project, but many people do not know how to write a grant.
That’s why Purdue Extension, the outreach arm for Purdue located in Knox County, is holding a grant writing workshop.
The workshop will be split between two days, April 14th and May 19th.
Day one will be focused on finding a funder and listing your goals, then day two will be writing and reviewing your proposal.
Tonya Short, Health and Human Sciences Educator at Purdue Extension, said participants of the workshop will not only receive training from specialists, but also a list of possible funders.
“There will be two facilitators present for the full day, and they have been teaching this class for many years”, Short said. “They have great experience in the ins and outs of grants and the tricky part of where to look for grants. One of the perks of this program is that participants will walk away with two weeks free access to the pro-version of Foundation Directory. That is a catalog of any entity you would ever want to search for those community-based grants that we are often looking for.”
The workshop has many non-profits and local organizations signed up already, however it is open to the public.
