WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Work will soon begin to repair a sinkhole in West Terre Haute.
It is located at U.S. Highway 40 and South Thorpe Place. South Thorpe Place will be closed for repairs during the week of March 31st to April 4th, which is also spring break for Vigo County Schools. County Commissioner Chris Switzer said, he hopes, work will only last a couple days. Switzer said, the issue was brought to their attention, by a concerned citizen.
“There’s been a lot of work here recently with a new water line going out to the rest area, underground fiber, and this culvert has been replaced in several years so we’re happy to do this work just you know extremely thankful somebody let us know and gave us a tip about it so we can get to work quickly.” said Switzer.
Switzer said citizens can contact the County Commissioner Office anytime to let them know about issues like this.
