WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — West Vigo High School Theater will be presenting the high-energy and feel-good musical Mamma Mia!, set to take the stage March 21, 22 and 23 in the West Vigo Middle School auditorium.
The production features a talented ensemble of students, showcasing their skills in acting, singing and dancing, as well as the behind-the-scenes magic of set design, costumes and lighting.
Mamma Mia! follows the heartwarming story of Sophie Sheridan as she embarks on her journey to discover the identity of her father before her wedding. The musical will include showstopping musical numbers like “Dancing Queen,” “Super Trooper” and “Take a Chance on Me.”
“This is one of the most exciting productions we’ve ever put together,” said Shara Enyeart, the show’s director. ” The cast and crew have worked tirelessly to bring this story to life with incredible energy and passion, and we can’t wait to share it with the community.”
We also spoke with students about why they are excited to play their characters.
“I went out for this character because she means so much to me. My mother was a single mother and she’s the strongest person I know. And I think Donna really embodies exactly how my mother is and I’m doing this for her,” Kennedy Graham playing as Donna Sheridan said.
“Any role that I would of gotten I would of happy with because the people here who’ve worked with me are just great people,” William Marrs playing as Sam Carmichael said.
Performances will take place on March 21 and 22 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m.
