TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Friday morning, 8th grade students in Vigo County got to take an interactive tour of Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
This gave them the chance to talk with teachers, staff and students about what their day-to-day lives could be like. Honey Creek Middle School student Eleanor Glassburn said she is looking forward to having more freedom.
“I like that we get to choose rather or not we get to be in advanced classes or regular classes and when we want to take them rather than just getting them randomly assigned,” said Glassburn.
Student Raegan Bowman said that she is most excited about being able to focus on her future career.
“I am excited for a more focused pathway to lead into my future career,” said Bowman. “I’m not sure if I want to go into human or animal health, but hopefully I can do both in high school to try and figure it out.”
These students also got the chance to learn about multiple clubs, sports, and other extracurricular activities. Glassburn said she is ready to start her new journey at a new school.
“I know a lot of people in high school because of cross country and I trained with them, so it makes it a little better knowing that I can go to them,” said Glassburn. “It is just nice knowing that we are going to be a new school as a fresh start would be nice.”
