TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State University students came together for a second day of service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.
Monday, students took time to volunteer at local clothes closet and served food at a soup kitchen. Today, students took time to volunteered to pack meals to be donated to Mana From Seven. The Terre Haute organization will distribute food to people in need.
There were other student service projects happening around the city today, including more than 100 students signed up to volunteer their time today.
“Indiana State one of its pillars is community service it’s always been That’s why we always have freshman students start off their time as a sycamore doing service so just services ingrained in our DNA as sycamores so I know that students want to get back and they want to get back to the city of Terre Haute,” said Alex Whitmore, Assistant Director in the Center for Community Engagement Office at ISU.
