TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A suspect is in custody after a police standoff on the 2200 block of Sycamore Street.
According to officers with the Terre Haute Police Department, Daniel Brown had active warrants for escape, resisting law enforcement, battery on a person less than 14 years old, and possession of methamphetamine.
When officers attempted to serve a warrant on Brown, he hid in a home on the 2200 block of Sycamore Street.
Officers say when they contacted Brown he said that he would shoot at law enforcement.
This led to a standoff that blocked off Sycamore Street and portions of North 22nd Street for more than six hours.
Officers say they were able to take Brown into custody just after 12:00 A.M. without incident.
The Terre Haute Police Department, THPD Special Response Team, and Terre Haute Fire Department paramedics were all on the scene.
