PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Horizon Health has announced that Dr. Darren Brucken will be stepping into the role of Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Dr. Brucken has over 25 years of experience in the medical field at local healthcare organizations. He is currently the Vigo County Health Commissioner and is CEO and president of P.I.N.K, incorporated, a non-profit that serves breast cancer patients.
“Dr. Brucken is a proven leader in healthcare and is well respected for his work in the community,” said Ollie Smith, Horizon Health president & CEO. “I am confident he will excel in the role of CMO as he assists with the governance of Horizon Health.”
In his new role as CMO, Dr. Brucken, will serve as a liaison between the Horizon Health medical and administrative staff.
“He will provide oversight of medical staff bylaws and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. He will collaborate with the medical staff to mitigate areas of concern, ensuring patients receive high-quality care,” said Horizon Health in a press release.
In addition to his new duties, the hospital said, Dr. Brucken will continue his current, full-time position as Hospital Medical Director at Horizon Health.
