TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After over a decade in the Wabash Valley, Willow Gift & Home is getting ready to close their doors in Terre Haute.
The boutique has been a staple in Terre Haute for over 13 years.
“It’s kind of we’re saying it’s the end of an era for us,” said the owner of Willow Gift & Home Heather Wolf.
Willow Gift & Home specializes in clothing, home decor, and gift items. With the recent announcement, the store will be offering a closing sale with everything marked down up to 75% off.
“One of the cool things about this is we are a quirky little shop here. A lot of the furniture, they’re antiques. They were family members of mine, they’re antiques that we had when we were “A Bunch of Ladies,” and that we picked up at various times. So all of the fixtures are going to be for sale. If there is furniture pieces you looked at in here, they’re for sale. We want to make sure that everybody gets a little piece of a memory here,” said Wolf.
The owner of Willow Gift & Home mentions it’s been a blessing have the support of the community for over a decade.
“It’s just a really, really strong community when it comes to small businesses. Terre Haute comes out for small businesses, especially when they started the whole Small Business Saturday. I was always overwhelmed by the number of people in this town who would come out. We have such as strong base that they come to us,” said Wolf.
Although the doors may be closing, you will still be able to find Willow Gift & Home Terre Haute merchandise, like the popular city-scape tiles at the Vigo County History Center.
“We’ve got a lot of merchandise at the Vigo County History Center. We’re going to move our city-scape tiles that are all of local locations over to the history center. You’ll still have those available for you,” said Wolf.
At this time, there is not set closing date.. but Wolf says she plans to wrap up at the end of February, or early March and can’t thank the community enough for supporting her small business.
“An unbelievable heartfelt thank you to everyone for making this an amazing experience for me. This has been an experience of a lifetime and I am forever grateful,” said Heather Wolf.
Willow Gift & Home is open Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, and Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays & Mondays.
