VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Multiple counties responded to a report of a gunshot wound early Thursday morning in Seelyville.
According to Chief Deputy Steve Meng with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, just before 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning, deputies were dispatched to Casey’s General Store at 9700 E US Hwy 40, in reference to a gunshot wound.
Deputy Meng confirmed that the shooting is believed to have taken place in Clay County.
Our reporter on the scene noted the presence of both the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Clay County Sheriff Brison Swearingen confirmed that the Clay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report in Vigo County.
According to Sheriff Swearingen, the investigation is in the early stages and more information will be released after further investigative measures are conducted.
