VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Commissioners also touched on the matter of demolition at their weekly meeting.
Gathered at the Vigo County Council Chambers, they discussed an agenda highlighted by several demolition projects, which includes the old Vigo County Jail. Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard says they approved ten demolition bids for properties throughout the county, with a total of $93,000 coming from the county budget. Clinkenbeard says the commissioners are looking forward to cleaning up and improving neighborhoods.
“Next week, they are actually scheduled to start doing exterior demolition on the 20th,” Clinkenbeard said. “Right now, they are inside taking out copper, things like that. Doing some recycling work and doing some interior demo, getting some more equipment on site this week, and it’ll be ready to go full bore on Monday.”
At the meeting, the commissioners also discussed adding group homes for children in Vigo County. Clinkenbeard says more details will be released soon.
