TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One local organization welcomed the community for a Christmas Day Mass.
The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods held a Christmas Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. The service was open to the public and people of all faith traditions. Officials say hundreds gathered in the church of the immaculate conception to celebrate Christmas day and celebrate the birth of Christ.
“For me it really is a strong reminder that I’m called to continue the work that Christ began 2,000 years ago. It’s not just a commemoration,” Sister Jeanne Hagelskamp said.
