TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO-WAWV) — The body of a missing Vigo County man has been found in a Morey Lake in northeastern Vigo County.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s office, on December 15, 2024 Tracey Williams (58 years old) was reported missing out of Vigo County. Mr. Williams was last seen on December 7, 2024. On December 16, 2024 at approximately 11:00 AM detectives located clothing articles floating in Morey Lake near Twin Beach Street in northeastern Vigo County. The articles were identified as property belonging to Mr. Williams. A recovery search of the lake, which is near Mr. Williams residence was conducted with the assistance of our drone team and DNR. The body of Mr. Williams was located by the Indiana DNR Dive Team.
The family of Mr. Williams has been notified.
At this time there are no obvious signs of foul play involved. An autopsy will occur for further investigation
