TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The grocery store Meijer has increased the range of its home delivery service to encompass three times the distance it did previously allowing many more people access.
Meijer announced in a news release on Friday that its original 20-minute delivery distance has now been increased to anywhere in a one-hour radius. This will allow the store in Terre Haute to cover parts of the Wabash Valley that were previously unable. Overall the store stated that in total it will allow them to serve an additional four million households.
“We heard from many customers that were interested in using home delivery to make their grocery shopping more convenient but couldn’t because they were outside of the delivery range,” said Emily Henao, Vice President of Digital Experience at Meijer. “We know our customers are busier than ever, and this expansion gives us a unique opportunity to make their lives easier.”
If you would like to see if you’re eligible to receive deliveries you can check the Meijer app to see if you fall under the extended range. In an effort to get people to try the service, Meijer is offering free delivery fees until February 1, 2025, if you spend at least $35 on pet or beauty products or $50 overall. Meijer currently offers home delivery at all of their stores.
