TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was an exciting Sunday at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum as there was a special guest getting everyone into the holiday spirit.
Sycamore Sam was in attendance for a festive event.
The ISU Alumni Association calls the event “Holiday Cookies with Sycamore Sam-ta.”
For a few hours, families could meet Sycamore Sam and enjoy some fresh baked cookies.
This was located on the third floor of the children’s museum and Sam was dressed for the occasion in a new blue Santa outfit.
ISU Alumni Association Executive Director PJ Thompson says the idea came from wanting to hold more events that all ages can participate in.
“We wanted to do some diversifying, if you will, of our events and activities. We thought that this would be a great way to reach out to alumni who have families, or younger children, that can’t traditionally attend the happy hour or reception events. We thought this would be a great way to connect with them and get them and their families out to be a part of things that we do as well.”
They also mention that they plan to do more events like this in the future and work with more local partners.
