NEWTON, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Illinois State Police (ISP) are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in Newton.
ISP confirmed that around 2:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon, the Newton Police Department requested the Illinois State Police Zone 8 Investigations to investigate a shooting death that occurred in the 300 Block of N. Walnut Street in Newton, Jasper County.
ISP noted that this is an open investigation and that there are no further details available at this time.
