PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Deputies with the Parke County Sheriff’s office made two arrests in connection to a home that was broken into twice.
According to a news release from the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, Monday saw a home on Harbison Road in eastern Parke County broken into. Deputies were dispatched to the home and learned that the house had been burglarized in the last 24 hours. According to deputies, several items were stolen from the residence. Later that same evening it would happen again but this time a vehicle was taken.
Deputies were able to locate the stolen vehicle and initiate a traffic stop in the area nearby. 50-year-old Amber M. Butcher of Cayuga was taken into custody. After taking Butcher into custody a male suspect was identified as well. Vermillion County Deputies were able to locate the second suspect near Cayuga and conducted a traffic stop as well. 47-year-old Travis D. Butcher of Cayuga was taken into custody during the stop.
Afterward, Parke County Deputies executed a search warrant at the Butcher’s home in Cayuga. While doing so, deputies were able to recover many of the stolen items from the home. The stolen items and vehicle were returned to the owners and both suspects were taken to Parke County Jail. They both received charges of burglary, theft, and auto theft.
