CHRISMAN, ILL (WTWO-WAWV) — A gas leak in Edgar County prompts a response from fire department personnel.
According to the Chrisman Fire Department Facebook page, around 7 pm EST, a gas leak was reported east of Hoult Cemetery. Authorities asked people to avoid the area and several roads were blocked.
The following statement was posted by Chrisman Fire at approximately 8 pm:
“Pipeline is still bleeding the line off so they can safely make repairs down the line somewhere. Fire Department is heading back to town. Please still avoid the area.”
