TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Miracle on 7th Street fundraiser is once again taking place this year on the roof of Baesler’s Market.
A small group of volunteers are spending the day on the roof of Baesler’s on November 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. collecting canned goods and donations used to donate to local charities. To date, Miracle on 7th Street has granted checks to 46 nonprofits and charities equalling more than $245,000 donated and around 29,000 pounds of food.
“Our goal is to raise $20,000 that we distribute to 14 different local food pantries. Just to help them with that influx that they have every year to meet the needs of our local neighbors,” Committee Chair Laken Richardson said.
The Miracle on 7th Street event is scheduled for December 6 and 7. As most know, this annual event is a Terre Haute tradition in downtown that includes the Light Your Way Christmas Parade, a vendor market, and children’s activities. This year’s Miracle on 7th Street will be held at the Hulman Center. Events will take place both in and outdoors. Igloo rentals will be available, several activities for children, opportunities for photos with Santa, cookie decorating and more.
