TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Vigo County Public Library’s main branch will be hosting the first Con at the Crossroads on November 16.
Con at the Crossroads is a fan convention to celebrate all the fandoms of your favorite characters, comics, movies, TV shows, and more. The event is open to all ages and allows fans of all genres to be able to find something to enjoy. The event will have several events such as panel discussions from local industry insiders, demonstrations, and game tournaments.
Some of the panels include those on cosplay, game design, comic illustrating with local artist and webcomic author Maddie King, and the basics of the game Warhammer. There will also be a sword-fighting demonstration done by David Kite a twenty-year member of the Association for Renaissance Martial Arts and demonstrations of different tabletop games. There will be a Mario Kart tournament, a Magic the Gathering tournament, and Pokémon trading card game tournament, and fandom trivia. The convention will even have crafts such as map making and crafting your own dragon eggs.
The convention will also feature fan art by local artists to be checked out, a selfie station, and the opportunity to meet a ghostbuster roaming the area checking for paranormal activity. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Library’s Main Branch located at 680 Poplar Street.
