VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — According to the Vincennes Police Department, their detective division is currently investigating a series of reports involving individuals dressed as security company representatives attempting to enter or entering homes.
The Department says the person(s) of interest are claiming that they are from the same company that the homeowner subscribes too and are there for the purpose of “upgrades” to the security systems. When the person(s) of interest is allowed into the homes, the department says that they asked for the security code to the residence, and it was given to them.
The department advises that if you have had a recent interaction like this and have given your security code to an unknown person, please speak with your company representative about getting your passcode changed. They also say if any community member has had an incident like this happen on Nov. 6, 2024, to please contact the Vincennes Police Department.
