TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Christmas is just around the corner, and with that comes the much anticipated 77th Annual Yuletide Madrigal Feaste.
The Indiana State University School of Music is pleased to announce the launch of ticket sales for the event. This holiday tradition brings the splendor of Renaissance festivities to Terre Haute. Modeled after the grand feasts of 16th-century England, this unique experience combines a sumptuous dinner and spirited theatrical performances, transporting guests to an era of royal celebration. The event will be held over three evenings, December 3-5, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
The evening begins with a Renaissance-inspired meal that features classic holiday dishes such as wassail, cranberry Christmas salad, roasted pork loin, stuffing, red potatoes, green beans, rolls, and Black Forest cake. Throughout the feast, performers in period costumes will entertain guests with a mix of elegance, music, and light-hearted comedy.
After the dinner, attendees will be treated to a selection of classical Christmas music performed by the Indiana State University School of Music’s Sycamore Singers and Brass Quintet, bringing an enchanting close to the evening’s festivities.
Dr. Scott Buchanan, Director of Choral Activities at Indiana State University believes this event is a highlight of Terre Haute’s holiday activities.
“An evening of music with singers, period costumes, and exquisite food in a historic venue, what more could you ask to usher in the Christmas season? Everyone involved in this venture takes great pride in producing an unforgettable evening for our guests, and we look forward to sharing the holiday spirit with them, said Dr. Buchanan.
Performances begin at 7 p.m. each evening. Due to limited seating, early reservations are encouraged. Only 80 seats are available each night.
Tickets are $35 per person and can be reserved by calling the Madrigal Dinner hotline at (812) 237-2763 or visiting the Choral Office in Room 222 of the Landini Center for the Performing and Fine Arts. Ticket sales will continue through Friday, November 22.
