SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County kicked off election day with new vote centers.
In the past, Sullivan County residents were required to vote at precinct locations, but for the 2024 Election, the county moved to vote centers.
Sullivan County Clerk, Tonya Bedwell said there are now 14 vote center locations across the county to give voters options for where to cast their ballot.
Bedwell said the county saw around 700 more early voters than they did for the 2020 election. She expects the larger turnout to continue throughout the day.
Election officials at the Sullivan Civic Center told WTWO they prepared for the larger turnout by having additional poll workers on site.
