BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After another great season, the Northview High School marching band is going to the state finals.
The band has been a powerhouse in this area for decades, and this year is no different. The Marching Knights are looking to win their 10th class B state championship and director of bands Dominic Thompson said these students have what it takes to succeed.
“I’m incredibly proud of the kids and the time and effort that they have put in so far as it has been a lot of work on their part, but they have done a great job,” said Thompson. “I look forward to them getting the reward of going to the state finals and performing really well.”
Every successful marching band has a drum major that goes above and beyond. Logan Bonte said that he embraces the role of being someone the band can always count on.
“It is more than just conducting, it is being a leader, being a motivator, and being someone that they can lean on and someone they trust to express their feelings and talk to about anything,” said Bonte.
Bonte said that no one deserves it more than this group.
“It is very exciting, and I am very grateful to be in his program that succeeds every year,” said Bonte. “You can see that these kids work hard every day and the process of going through this is a really good feeling being able to make it all the way.”
The band will be competing on November 9 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
