TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A crash early Thursday led to a vehicle on fire and another vehicle had two passengers trapped.
According to Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, there was a two-vehicle crash around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning. the crash occurred on State Road 63 and Durkees Ferry Road. When deputies arrived they found one of the vehicles on fire but the driver was out of the vehicle.
The other vehicle however had two of its passengers trapped inside. The sheriff’s department said that fire and rescue personnel were able to extricate both individuals from the wrecked car and the injured parties were taken to Union Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash appeared to be due to a failure to yield to oncoming traffic and the investigation is still ongoing.
