ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— On Saturday, 3 individuals were lifelined to Indianapolis after attempting to rekindle a campfire.
According to Marty Benson, Assistant Director and Managing Editor of Outdoor Indiana Division of Communications for the Indiana DNR, Saturday evening a camper at Racoon Lake attempted to rekindle their campfire by pouring gasoline onto the fire. In doing so the can itself ignited and then spilled onto another person by the fire. In total three individuals ended up with severe burns.
Because of the severity of their injuries, all three individuals were transported to Indianapolis by LifeLine helicopters for treatment. WTWO will update the story if more information becomes available.
