TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Due to the high turnout for early voters in the area, Vigo County is expecting longer lines on election day.
The Vigo County Clerk’s Office has sent out a news release stating that they are already experiencing a high turnout for their early voting locations with long lines already forming. Due to this development, they are expecting an even larger turnout on election day. The Clerk’s office is urging people to take advantage of early voting locations.
The places currently available for early voting are the Vigo County Annex from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 147 Oak Street, the Haute City Center from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 3401 South US Highway 41, and the Meadows Shopping Center from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 2800 Poplar Street.
Starting on October 29 though there will be four additional early voting sites open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. will be added to the list. The new locations are the VCSC Administration Building at 501 West Olive Street, the IBEW #725 at 5675 East Hulman Drive, Vigo County Solid Waste at 3230 East Haythorne Avenue, and the Operating Engineers Local 841 at 6801 South US Highway 41.
