TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Tuesday marks the opening day of early voting in Indiana.
Early voting has already been underway in Illinois. In Vigo County, the three locations where people can vote early at this time are the Vigo County Annex, the Haute City Center, and the Meadows Shopping Center.
Vigo County Election Supervisor Elizabeth Stiverson also mentioned that the last day to request an absentee ballot is October 24. She said that with this being a presidential election, they are expecting a very big turnout.
“We do want everyone to vote that possibly can,” said Stiverson. “We do expect a really good turnout as in 2020 we had around 44,000 votes in Vigo County, and I think we can beat that number this year.”
Stiverson also added that the Vigo County School Corporation administration building, IBEW, Vigo County Solid Waste, and Operating Engineers Local 841 will also be open as early voting centers starting October 29.
