TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Friday is Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars, and Thursday night the group held its final rehearsal.
Since 2007, Changes and Services for Youth has hosted the event as a fundraiser. This year they are doing the same, with an emphasis on a new project.
All the money raised is going to go to Chances and Services for Youth to support our programming from early childhood education, before and after school care, summer camps. Of course, this year, we are going to give 150,000 of these dollars raised to our care center that we are building on the East side of town.

12 local celebrities, including WTWO’s own Julia Prickett, have been working for weeks on fundraising and dance lessons. One dancer says, giving back has been his favorite part of the journey.
Public service has been in my family and my life, for my entire life, so giving back to the community is something I really thrive on doing. This is another opportunity for me to do that.

Friday, in a sold out Hulman Center, all 12 dancers will perform and there will be a variety of social events for guests.
We have a full menu here; it’s going to be a great opportunity. We have an after party with the Big Fun Band, so they’re going to get some live music. It’s just a great social night. What I think is one of the premier social events in our community.

Tickets are sold out for the event, but for those still wanting to watch, there will be a live stream at 7 p.m. on our ABC affiliate channel, WAWV.
