TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— After an investigation by the Terre Haute Police Department, both men injured in the shooting were arrested.
According to a post made on Facebook, Terre Haute Police Department has stated that an argument broke out at Ripley’s Bar, located at 830 Oak Street, that escalated until shots were exchanged.
David A. Hampton was arrested on September 18, three days after the incident, after being released from the hospital from his gunshot injuries. He has been charged with criminal recklessness, possession of a firearm by a violent felon, and possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer.
With assistance from a THPD Task Force Officer assigned to the U.S. Marshals, Shane C. Hunter, 43, of Terre Haute, was found in Kingsford Heights, Indiana, and arrested as well. Hunter was charged with aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and criminal recklessness. Hunter was originally taken to LaPorte County Jail but was later transferred to the Vigo County Jail by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.
