VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local Rose Hulman staff member and pastor is in the Vigo County Jail after being arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.
Curtiss Larry Davis II, 47, Terre Haute, remains in the Vigo County Jail, facing two counts of child exploitation-aggravating factor, Level 4 felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Terre Haute police became aware of child sex abuse being watched from a Terre Haute address. The cyber tip came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
After serving a search warrant of Davis’ email and social media, it was discovered that he had two images of young girls being sexually abused, 17 AI-generated images of children being sexually abused, and actual images of humans having sex with dogs and wolves.
On September 24, 2024, search warrants were served at Davis’ Terre Haute home and his office at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, where, according to court documents, he is employed. Rose Hulman officials responded Friday morning in a statement.
“We are aware of these serious charges and can confirm that the staff member in question is no longer employed at Rose-Hulman. Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our community,” officials wrote. “Because this is a legal matter, we are unable to provide any further comment at this time.”
Davis is also listed in court documents as the owner and religious leader at a company called Key of David LLC. Also, Grace Fellowship Church in Paris, Ill. posted a message on August 24, 2024 welcoming Davis as their new worship pastor.
Davis agreed to speak with detectives from the Terre Haute Police Department on September 24, 2024. After being read his rights, Davis admitted to sending child pornography through a website to someone. He also believed that the children in the imagery found in his possession were under the age of 12.
Davis is being held on a bond of $25,000 with no 10 percent allowed.
