JASONVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thursday the Greene County Health Clinic held an event called Save a Life Day.
This was to celebrate National Naloxone Day along with distributing free Narcan and having local health and recovery resources on hand. Narcan is used to reverse overdoses.
Local health officials said they want to make sure the public knows how to properly use it. Community Health Worker for the Greene County Health Clinic Wendy Bailey said this event helps the community make personal connections with these local resources.
“That way you can connect with whom you may be working with one-on-one, if you are looking for a resource, or if it is a friend or family member that is needing that, you are putting that connection together with that soft handoff,” said Bailey.
WTWO will also be airing a special story discussing the Fentenayl crisis and how Narcon is used to stop overdoses on Good Day Live on September 30.
