VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person is dead after a shooting in Vermillion County Monday night.
One person was pronounced dead after a shooting in the area of a Hardee’s and On The Fly gas station on SR-163 in Vermillion County. Deputies from the sheriff’s office said in a news release that they responded to a report of shots fired around 10 p.m. The agency says there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Locals in the area said they are fearful and everyone spoken to declined to go on camera. They were also shocked that something like this could happen in Clinton.
Indiana State Police detectives are assisting with the investigation, and ISP public information officer Sgt. Matt Ames says that an autopsy on the victim will take place on September 18.
