FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall will make its way to Clay County next month.
The wall is a three fifth scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. It stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end.
Organizers say it gives people, the opportunity to experience the memorial without traveling to D.C. It will be located on the north side of North Clay Middle School.
The co-chair of this event Leesa Nesty said she hopes this helps the community honor everyone who has or still is serving in the military.
“Number one, welcome the Vietnam veterans home,” said Nesty. “Number two, show honor to our veterans who served after Vietnam, and to involve the entire community in this and make this something special and very memorable.”
This wall will be there from October 17-20.
This same group is also bringing the “FBI Onsite Commander” on 9/11 to Brazil. FBI Special Agent Wes Wong, (RET.) will speak on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Northview High School Auditorium.
