TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Grab your glow sticks and get ready for the 5th annual Blackout Addiction Glow Run.
The Wabash Valley Recovery Center will be hosting the 5k at Fairbanks Park Friday night from 6-10 p.m. The event will include recovery speakers, food trucks, a DJ, and a foam machine.
Participants will run through several glow stations where sponsors will spray them with glow paint.
Recovery Coach Joseph Jones said he can’t thank the community enough for their constant support in trying to destroy the stigma around substance abuse.
“It is so awesome to see people that I know who are in recovery and people that are there that are not in recovery but support it,” said Jones. “It is great to see the whole community come out at an event like this, have fun, and work together to get rid of the stigma against substance abuse.”
All proceeds go directly to the Wabash Valley Recovery Center to help continue its mission of providing no-cost substance use support to the Wabash Valley.
