TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Bear’s Coffee & Roasting had a ribbon cutting for their new location Wednesday evening.
Bear’s had the Mayor and several others including the Chamber of Commerce in attendance Wednesday for the new location opening. This is the third store location along with the mobile trailer. The new location is a previous bricklayer’s union building and the owner said they tried to keep as much original as they could.
“Just seeing how different it was,” said owner Maja Austin. “I mean it’s easy to like go build something and then it’s just so plain, and doesn’t have any character. This had character, this had a story, and I feel like we need to preserve buildings and fix them up instead of tearing them down.”
The location of the new business is at 2112 South Third Street and will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can follow updates from Bears at their website, or their many social media pages.
Austin said that the decision to open here was due to many customers wishing for a southern location to limit the drive.
