LYONS, Ind. (WTWO) — The four people who were injured during the Scheid’s Deisel Extravaganza on Friday are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, officials with Wagler Motorsports Park wrote on Facebook.
“The four people who were injured are in different stages of recovery at this time with non-life-threatening injuries,” they wrote. “Please keep the families and staff in your prayers.”
A Jeep Wrangler being used as a pit vehicle, driven by Jolanda Hargett, of Tennessee, was driving out of the truck pulling area into the crowd and struck three pedestrians, Marlin Zimmerman, Jared Weaver, and Joey Rank, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
The Jeep then struck a side-by-side, a track rake, and another vehicle before rolling over onto its side, deputies added. The driver of the jeep and the pedestrians were rushed to a local hospital.
This is a developing story and we will have more information as it becomes available.
