ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Parke County Sheriff’s Department found a deceased woman in a vehicle Friday morning that has now been identified as a missing woman from Rockville.
On Friday, Parke County Deputies responded to a report of an SUV in a field in southwest Parke County. Deputies located a deceased female inside the vehicle.
The vehicle was determined to be that of Carolyn Braner (79) of Rockville, who had been reported missing through the Rockville Police Department on August 14th.
Parke County Deputies are investigating the death and are awaiting results from an autopsy. Deputies do not suspect foul play. This investigation is still ongoing.

On August 16, 2024, at 10:35 a.m., Parke County Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in a field in the south west section of Parke County. Deputies located an SUV parked in a hayfield several hundred feet from the roadway. Deputies also located a deceased female inside the vehicle. The vehicle was determined to be that of Carolyn Braner (79) of Rockville. Carolyn had been reported missing, through the Rockville Police Department, on August 14, 2024.
Parke County Deputies are investigating the death and are awaiting results from an autopsy as well as positive identification through the Parke County Coroner’s Office. Deputies do not suspect foul play was involved. The investigation is ongoing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
