TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – With school being just around the corner, Chances and Services for Youth wanted to remind the public about its before and after school care.
It will be held at the Booker T. Washington Community Center with before school care starting at 6:30 a.m. and open until 7:45 a.m. and after school care going from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m.
CASY’s Youth Programs Director Holly Mullenix said these programs have always been a need in the community.
“It is a need for our families in the community along with being a safe place for the kids to be after school and helping them with their homework and making sure that they are safe, staying off the streets, and get a warm meal,” she said.
The before-school care is $25 a week and the after-school care is $50 a week. The after school care includes a teacher to help the students with their homework as well as educational games and projects.
Mullenix said they want all students to get the educational experience that they deserve.
“It is an added support system for the families to make sure the kids are well-rounded and getting what they need,” she said.
Anyone who is interested in these programs can find a way to sign up here.
