TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Hamilton Center in Terre Haute is now able to expand its childcare services, especially for infants.
The center has been offering childcare for the past 26 years, through grants, and now is able to expand through the childcare development fund. This is a voucher-based system for eligible families to apply, and then choose the childcare of their choice.
The decision comes from a “community needs assessment” that showed a demand for infant care.
The Hamilton Center will now have a total of 24 infant spots in the childcare program.
Chief of Clinical Outreach Claire Owens says the Hamilton Center is excited about this new opportunity to help the community.
“Families are looking for quality childcare, especially for their infants and their toddlers, and so we’re just really excited to meet that need for our community.”
