BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– A local community is currently holding its annual independence day celebrations.
The Brazil Rotary Club is hosting its 89th annual 4th of July celebration in Forest Park. It began on Tuesday night. The event includes a variety of food, entertainment, and carnival rides for families to enjoy. Each year, money raised from the celebration goes right back into the community.
“We pay for multiple scholarships of students of both Northview and Clay City High School.” says Dave Crooks, Brazil Rotary Club’s Publicity and Entertainment Chairman. “We give checks to local not-for-profits that may be short on funds for a particular project. we really do follow the national motto of rotary, ‘service above self’.”
Festivities run through Saturday, July 6.
