TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Vigo County School Corporation held their Arrive and Drive event in Terre Haute.
The corporation is looking for bus drivers for the upcoming school year. Several interested applicants came to Terre Haute North High School to take a bus through an obstacle course. VCSC director of transportation PJ Pitts says the event puts a fun twist on learning about the job.
“This is a great opportunity to come out and see how to drive a bus and just the feel,” Pitts said. “We’ve had several people out today. We’ve even had one lady come out and say, ‘this is really fun!’ One thing about bus driving is you give back to the community, you get to give back to kids, get a safe trip home and to school every day.”
