WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— On July 14 Writer, teacher, and DJ Pope Brock will be discussing his book Indiana Gothic with Daviess County Museum goers.
Brock wrote a book on a family scandal in his 1999 book based on the killing of his great-grandfather. In 1908 Ham Dillon a young aspiring Daviess County politician was killed on Main Street by his Brother-in-law. This was caused by the brother finding out his wife was having an affair with Ham and had given birth to his child.
Brock on the first page of his book noted “the story you are about to read lay buried in my family for a long time.” He said that a great aunt had dropped clues that lead him on a two-year investigation including three separate trips to Indiana to find out the truth.
Brock encourages questions about the research and his writing of the book in his Zoom discussion. The Daviess County Museum is located at 212 E Main Street. The discussion will be at 3 p.m. and admission will be free. For more information on Brock you can check out his website here.
