TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Duke Energy Foundation is giving back to the community by supporting education.
The Duke Energy Foundation on Tuesday presented grants to Ivy Tech and Indiana State University.
Ivy Tech received $10,000 to support its workforce development programs. ISU received $40,000 for its math and reading summit, a program the Duke Energy Foundation has supported for many years.
“It’s a great avenue to train teachers not only throughout the Hoosier state, but now we’re doing all 50 states and some international countries as well, providing them training in STEM education, some of that reading and math that’s so critical for the workforce development in our region,” said Kim Vogelgesang, Duke Energy Foundation Manager.
The grants come as the Duke Energy Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary.
